BritPop / Rock / Atmospheric / Contemplative

Admittedly, it’s been a difficult time, music-wise. Spring break for the kids happened, busy around the house, etc... Essentially I just haven’t been in a music-forward mindset. It’s resulted in a struggle to pick an album to recommend. However, more often than not, when I’m in this situation, I find myself going back to a few albums that resonate with me. Lost Souls by doves is one of them. It’s this haunting, atmospheric, contemplative fever-dream, filled with emotional moments and subtle britpop hooks. It demands to be played from start to finish. The record flows so well and the band was still in its infancy, despite playing music together for a long time (Sub Sub). They were clearly exploring these new sounds and allowed the music to take them wherever it led to. One of my favorite albums of all time.
