Hello Meteor just keeps releasing new music and it’s all so good! The Department of Marine Sciences is the latest album, released last week and only a few months after Comfortable Loneliness. After the first couple of listens, this one seems to be a bit more...minimalist? stark? direct? If this is a concept album (I’m not sure) then it makes sense as each of the tracks have a defined purpose and seem to be telling a story for the record. It’s new territory and it works really well, each of the tracks having their own sound and purpose but with those wonderful Hello Meteor vibes. This is one that will get even better with more listens. Something to enhance those chill summer vibes, perhaps…
